In a horrific development, three Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers were critically injured in Shangla’s NA-11 constituency after Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police allegedly opened straight fire at them for staging protests against alleged rigging in the election results over night.
As per reports, violent clashes between protesters and police are continuing in the area. During clashes, the PTI workers also set ablaze a state-owned vehicle.
Things have gotten ugly, reports of deaths and injuries in Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as PTI was protesting against the changing of voting results in Alpuri. The clash is with the police as per local sources where teargas is used.. Military called in to control the situation.

According to local journalists, the injured have been shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital, Swat, for medical care. One of the injured is said to be in critical condition.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate, Amir Muqam has won the election for National Assembly constituency NA-11, Shangla by securing 59,863 votes. According to the provisional result, his runner-up was PTI-backed independent candidate, Syed Fareen, who bagged 54,311 votes.
