Hundreds of users in Pakistan are unable to access the famous social networking platform X, previously known as Twitter.
Downdetector.pk, a real-time internet and social media outage monitoring service, reported an X outage across the country at about 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Users on X were unable to access messages on the social networking site since the notice "This site can't be reached" showed when they attempted to load it.
According to Downdetector, at least 185 outage reports were received at 9:01 p.m., and by 9:24 p.m., the total had increased to 239.
Meanwhile, NetBlocks, a cyber security monitor, verified the outages, citing "live metrics" that indicated a fresh national-scale disruption to X Pakistan.
The country has lately experienced regular internet and social media site disruptions, particularly for a few months following the 2024 general election.
Last month, netizens complained about being unable to connect to social media sites such as X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and streaming behemoth YouTube, while Google services and internet service provider PTCL also experienced outages.
Individually, X experienced global outages in May 2023, following a large number of complaints received by users worldwide.
